25. March 2026
What began as a setback has unfolded into an unexpected opportunity.
For me, March 2026 will always stand out as a month defined by hard work, determination, and a quiet resolve to rebuild. Losing the website felt, at first, like an uphill struggle — an almost impossible task that arrived without warning. Yet in starting again with Ionis as the new web host, what began as a setback has unfolded into an unexpected opportunity.
This fresh start has allowed the project not only to recover, but to grow. It has created space for a stronger, more resilient platform dedicated to remembrance, local heritage, and the stories that deserve to be preserved with care.
Now, as I write this with the migration finally complete, I feel a deep sense of contentment. This is the moment to look forward — to shape an improved place of commemoration, discovery, and community connection. What was once a challenge has become the foundation for something better, something worthy of the memories it holds.
Looking ahead, this rebuild marks more than a technical milestone — it represents a renewed commitment to preserving the stories, memories, and local history that give our community its identity. With a stronger foundation in place, the focus now shifts to expanding the archive, improving accessibility, and creating a space where visitors can explore, learn, and remember with ease.
The months ahead will bring new features, clearer navigation, and a more thoughtful structure for the growing collection of photographs, documents, and personal accounts. Each addition will be guided by the same principle that has shaped this project from the beginning: respect for the people and places that form the fabric of our heritage.
Rebuilding has reminded me why this work matters. It’s not just about restoring what was lost — it’s about honouring the past with even greater care, and ensuring that these stories remain alive for future generations. March 2026 may have begun with challenge, but it ends with renewed purpose and a platform ready to grow.
With the foundations now rebuilt and the platform strengthened, the focus turns to growth, refinement, and deeper historical preservation. The work ahead will be steady and thoughtful, guided by the same commitment to accuracy, respect, and community heritage. March 2026 marks a turning point — not an ending, but the beginning of a more resilient and meaningful archive.
